Most common are Keto, Carnivore, Lion Diet, and animal-based. Keto: a low-carb way of eating, high enough in fat and protein to put your body in a state of ketosis (using fat instead of carbs for energy). Carnivore: only animal-based products, no plant-based products. Lion Diet: only ruminant (red) meat, salt, and water. Animal-based: primarily animal products, but some fruits and natural sweeteners. We are the biggest advocates of intuitive eating, and if you feel safe to splurge or customize your diet by adding in some other foods, GO FOR IT! Our goal at Meat Based Mama is to help you find a way of eating that makes you feel like the best version of yourself and keeps eating positive, whatever the specifics look like. Maybe that means soda or dessert on a special occasion or select produce/grains/legumes on a regular basis. There are no hard-and-fast rules! Check out THIS blog post for more info.
